EE says Brits waste 28 hours a year deciding what to watch on TV

New research from EE TV shows that the average Brit wastes more than 28 hours a year looking for something to watch on TV. More than half (54%) of Brits feel that they more time browsing through TV/film options than actually watching; with 66 percent saying they have fallen asleep before choosing something to watch. Almost half (45%) of Brits said they have given up and rewatched old TV shows just avoid making a choice.

Orange Slovakia reports higher Q1 revenue but mobile subscribers decline

Orange Slovakia has reported EUR 147.5 million in revenues in the first quarter of this year, up by EUR 7.4 million year-on-year, reports Zive. The mobile subscriber base dropped by 44,000 to 2.35 million, with mobile postpaid customers down 27,000 to 1.80 million. The fixed internet subscriber base was 329,000, up by 3,000, with 218,000 customers using fibre-optic internet, up by 15,000.

Netflix approves new USD 25 billion share buyback

Netflix has approved spending up to USD 25 billion on buying its own stock. The board decision was announced in a SEC filing, and comes as USD 6.8 billion was still outstanding as of end-March on its previous share buyback authorisation from 2024. The company had suspended the share purchases while it was working on the takeover of Warner Bros Discovery, but with that deal cancelled, it's now free to resume the capital return to shareholders.
