10% of US population still without broadband access - FCC

Broadband is not being deployed to all Americans in a reasonable and timely fashion, according to the FCC's 2016 Broadband Progress Report. The FCC said that although the country has made significant progress in broadband deployment, 34 million people (10% of the population) still lack access to broadband, defined as 25 Mbps downloads and 3 Mbps uploads. This shows an improvement on last year, when 55 million people (17% of the population) did not have access to 25/3 Mbps service.
