1&1 CEO supports free, open internet for all providers

The CEO of German ISP 1&1, Martin Witt, insists that the company is not considering offering enhanced services for a premium charge. In a blog posting, he said that the effects of the recent net neutrality ruling by the EU are unclear, but warned that competition between larger and smaller internet firms must remain fair and that smaller providers, who are unable to pay premium fees for higher bandwidth, are not disadvantaged. His comments come after Deutsche Telekom CEO Timotheus Hoettges suggested that his company could charge start-ups to improve the quality of their services under new EU
