Thursday 14 September 2017 | 09:53 CET | News

German regional operator R-Kom announced an agreement for 1&1 to use its fibre network for residential customers. R-Kom connects over 26,000 households with FTTH/B in the Regensburg area and is adding around 5,000 new homes passed each year.

As a result of the cooperation, 1&1 will be able to offer customers in the area speeds up to 500 Mbps from the start of October. It will use its own open access platform for network access.
