3 Austria to activate LTE in Vienna on 18 November - CEO

3 Austria will activate its LTE network in Vienna on 18 November, according to CEO Jan Trionow at the sidelines of the Mobile Asia Congress in Hongkong, cited by Austrian newspaper Der Standard. Trionow said that LTE is ready to become a mass market service offering mobile broadband with speeds up to 100 Mbps and lower latency to compete with fixed broadband for residential customers and SMEs in Austria. The operator will start offering LTE in selected areas in Vienna and plans to expand the service to congested regions around Austria during the coming months. The operator uses network
