37 mobile manufacturing plants open in India in 1 year

India has attracted investment from 37 mobile manufacturing companies over the past year. These projects generated 40,000 direct jobs and 125,000 indirect jobs, ET reports, citing IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad. "We decided to make India a big hub of electronics manufacturing. In the last one year, 37 new mobile manufacturing units have come", Prasad said. According to the minister, 110 million mobile phones have been made in the country in the past year compared to 60 million in the year-earlier period.
