4 in 5 German smartphone owners use messaging services

The latest YouGov survey shows that 4 out of 5 (82%) of German smartphone owners use messaging services such as WhatsApp for communicating, up 11 percentage points from July 2015. One in two (51%) play games on their smartphones, up by 11 percentage points, and 88 percent surf the internet, up 5 percentage points. Over half (58%) of smartphone owners believe that a suitable inclusive mobile data allowance for internet use is at least very important, 57 percent believe a flat-rate for calls to mobile networks is very important, as well as a flat-rate for calls to fixed-line networks (57%).
