7-Eleven stores to provide MNP services in Thailand

The Telecom Committee of Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has allowed 7-Eleven convenience stores to take number portability applications from mobile customers, The Nation reports, citing NBTC member Pravit Leestapornvongsa. The move is in line with new number portability regulations that go into effect on 20 January. These regulations require customer service shops that are not part of existing operator networks to apply for a permit to provide the number portability service.
