80% of Germans feel their data is unsafe on internet

Four out of five (80%) internet users in Germany consider their data unsafe on the internet, down by only 1 percent since last year, according to a survey by IT association Bitkom. According to CEO Bernhard Rohleder, the trust in internet security is only recovering slowly after the NSA scandal and continuous cyber attacks, and inhibits Germans from using online services such as cloud computing or mobile payments. The survey showed that many citizens neither trust the government nor companies when it comes to their personal data; 75 percent of internet users have little or no trust in public
