84% of German population is online - ARD/ZDF study

Thursday 13 October 2016 | 10:55 CET | News
The number of internet users in Germany has increased in 2016 by 2 million to 58 million, equal to 84 percent of the population, according to the 2016 ARD/ZDF Online Study. A total of 45 million Germans, or 65 percent of people, access online content each day. The smartphone is the most frequently used device for internet access, used by two thirds of Germans and almost all 14-29 year olds to get online. The study shows that 28 percent of Germans (19 million people) go online out and about each day, whether in a café, on public transport or at a friends house.
