A quarter of small Mexican towns still without mobile coverage - study

Monday 1 April 2019 | 11:45 CET | News
Nearly a quarter (24.95%) of Mexican localities with populations of under 10,000 inhabitants still lack mobile coverage, according to an analysis carried out by investment promotion agency Promtel. The study found that 47,739 of Mexico's 191,317 smaller towns aren't yet covered by a mobile network, while only one of the country's 930 large towns (+10,000) lacks coverage. In total, 95.7 percent of the country's population has mobile coverage of some sort (2G, 3G or 4G).
