A1 launches smart city pilot project in Villach

Austrian operator A1 has cooperated with the city of Villach to start a joint nationwide pilot project called Smart City Villach. Concrete digitisation measures are being implemented in the city centre. They include intelligent sensors that can improve traffic and lighting control. The system will allow indication of available parking places, continuous traffic monitoring and traffic lights to be switched on only when it is really necessary.
