A1 to pay EUR 64.3 mln for 3.5 GHz spectrum in Austria

A1 Telekom Austria Group has announced that the Austrian spectrum auction for the 3.5 GHz band has closed and that its domestic subsidiary A1 Telekom Austria has acquired 100-140 MHz, depending on the region, for a total of EUR 64.3 million. This corresponds to a price of EUR 0.063/MHz/population. The bands will be used for the new 5G network and capacity expansions for the existing mobile network.
