A1 wrongly charges service fee for customer advice

Austrian operator A1 charged a senior customer a EUR 20 service fee for explaining how to print out an online invoice. Subsequently the company apologised and returned the fee. The government planned to cancel the obligatory paper invoices in an amendment of the Telecommunications Act, which was originally due for adoption by the Council of Ministers in June. However, in view of the current political situation, it is unclear whether and to what extent the amendment will be adopted.
