Abertis presents smart irrigation management system

Thursday 21 November 2013 | 09:08 CET | News
Spain's Abertis Telecom has presented a smart irrigation management system, designed to reduce water consumption in cities by up to 35 percent, at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona. The system uses ground and environmental sensors to collect and analyse data relating to water levels, soil moisture and the weather. This information is then combined with satellite imagery of the park in question to determine the amount of water required and the ideal times for watering.
