Abertis takes control of Hispasat

Spanish regulator CNMC has authorised the acquisition by Spanish infrastructure company Abertis of a 16.42 percent stake in Spanish satellite operator Hispasat, reports Europa Press. Abertis bought the stake from the Esteban Terradas National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), which is part of the Spanish Defence Ministry. The deal gives Abertis a majority stake of 57.05 percent in Hispasat following a total investment of EUR 475 million. The other partners in Hispasat are Eutelsat (33.69 percent), Sepi (7.41 percent) and CDTI (1.85 percent). Hispasat expects to double its revenue to
