About 30% of Facebook users in South Africa prefer social media

Facebook remains the most popular platform in South Africa, with almost 30 percent of the population now connected. This finding is from the SA Social Media Landscape 2018 study which was conducted by Ornico and World Wide Worx. The study found that the number of South Africans using Facebook has increased by 14 percent since 2016, from 14 million to 16 million. Of these, 14 million were accessing the social network on mobile devices.
