ABOX42 unveils new Smart STB platform M50 at IBC

ABOX42, a supplier of STB platforms, unveiled its new Smart STB platform M50 at IBC 2016 in Amsterdam. The M50-Series SmartSTB is based on Broadcom's latest Ultra High Definition (UHD) high performance 12,000 DMIPS system-on-a-chip BCM7252S. The company said the platform can decode HEVC up to 4K video with up to 60 frames per second and strong UI performance. The platform also includes fast Wi-Fi as an option (up to 802.11ac), 1 Gbps Ethernet and USB 3.0 interface. It supports built-in Bluetooth 4.0, RF for hybrid remote controls and support of Smart Home services via Zigbee/Thread standard.
