Acer to take majority stake in Wistron unit Aopen for TWD 420 mln

Acer will be taking a majority stake (51%) in Aopen, a unit Taiwan's Wistron, for a tao of TWD 420 million. The transaction will take place as a private placement of Aopen shares, at TWD 11.5 per share. Aopen will be placing 36.5 million new shares. Following the transaction, Acer will join the management of Aopen, an electronics manufacturer specialised in ultra-small form factor computing for both home and business applications, and digital signage ranging from hardware to software and services.
