AfDB approves funds for trans-Saharan fibre cable

The African Development Bank Group (AfDB) has given the green light to funds which will support the trans-Saharan fibre cable project connecting Algeria, Mali, Niger and Chad, reports Agence Ecofin. The ICT ministers of these countries had met last year to advance the project, for which Niger has already negotiated EUR 43.9 million worth of funding.
