African Dev Bank, Gates Foundation plan digital finance fund

The African Development Bank (ADB) interim vice chairman Stefan Nalletamby has announced plans for a new investment fund for digital, reports Agence Ecofin. The USD 30 million fund's main backer will be the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The ADB expects the African digital finance fund to support innovative digital financial services on mobiles and the web as part of common efforts to increase financial inclusion on the continent.
