Africell plans to enter 2 more African countries in 2 years

Africell is planning to expand into a minimum of two new countries during the next two years, CommsMEA reported. Africell currently has mobile operations in Gambia, Sierra Leone and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), with a combined active subscriber base of over 5.4 million. Africell expects to increase this figure across these three operations to 7 million by the end of the year, and aims to reach 10 million by 2014. Africell said that by expanding into two new countries, it would be able to expand its subscriber base to 15 million. It said that its operations in Gambia and Sierra
