Agcom clears Telecom Italia's 100 Mbps offering

Thursday 10 February 2011 | 10:53 CET | News
Italy's Communications Authority (AgCom) has cleared the commercial launch of Telecom Italia's 100 Mbps fibre broadband offering. The regulator decided that the service will be limited in 2011 to a maximum of 40,000 clients in cities where there already exists a fibre offer from competitors and can be marketed only after a wholesale proposal is presented to rival operators. According to local media reports, Telecom Italia will have to provide rivals with a discount of 12 percent on its best offer to end users.
