Agetic sees success in outsourced, free .ml, others disagree

The Malian government decision to offer the .ml top-level domain name for free through Luxembourg company Freenom in March 2013 has been criticised by various internet registries, including France's Afnic, as a relinquishing of sovereignty, reports Le Monde. The head of Malian domain registry Agetic, Moussa Dolo, is very positive about having outsourced.ml management and making it free for end users. There are now over 160,000 .ml websites, compared to a few hundred 2 years ago, according to the body, which only has a USD 42,000 operating budget and could not afford to handle the rising
