Agilis, Entreprise detect 6,000 fake Sim cards in DRC

Agilis International and Entreprise Telecom, the Franco-American consortium that was hired to provide call tracing services to the Democratic Republic of Congo government in January 2013, detected 6,000 fraudulent Sim cards in use over the country's networks since September, according to ICT minister Tryphon Kin Kiey Mulumba. Agence Ecofin reports that he told the National Assembly on 22 January that the fight against fraudulent phone calls was intensifying with at least 100 counterfeit Sim cards now being detected and disactivated by operators every day.
