Airtel Gabon customers can register persnal data by SMS

Thursday 7 May 2015 | 15:37 CET | News
Airtel Gabon customers introduced a system in April which allows customers to register their personal details with the operator by SMS, rather than having to queue at a branch office, reports Agence Ecofin. Telecom regulator Arcep made it mandatory for phone customers to register their details for national security reasons as well as to stem large financial losses for the state and operators. Users and operators were threatened with line disconnections if they did not register their information before the deadline.
