Airtel Gabon fined for under-reporting international calls

Airtel Gabon has been fined an undisclosed amount by telecommunications regulator Arcep for under-reporting international call traffic in June 2012, Agence Ecofin reports. The operator reportedly hid over three-quarters of the real traffic, based on Arcep audits conducted in August and September last year. The audits also found that Airtel's on-net tariffs contravened the tariffs set by the regulator based on orders made by the World Bank.
