Airtel Malawi urges southern Africa telecoms liberalisation

Airtel Malawi has called on regulatory bodies within the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) to extend deregulation of the telecommunications sector. Deputy Managing Director Maurice Newa said there should be less regulatory intervention. Newa hoped that the regulatory bodies will continue to be more independent and objective when discharging their duties, in order to create a level playing field, Nyasatimes reported.
