AIS adds 552,000 subscribers, profit drops 15% in Q3

Thai operator AIS ended the third quarter of 2018 with 40.6 million total mobile subscribers, after adding 552,000 subscribers from both postpaid and prepaid. The postpaid segment added 192,000 users quarter –on-quarter, while prepaid segment saw a net addition of 360,000 users in the 3-month period. Third-quarter total revenue jumped 9.2 percent year-on-year to THB 42.1 billion, mainly driven by fixed broadband, consolidation of CSL, equipment rental, and SIM and device sales. However, total revenue dropped 0.3 percent quarter-on-quarter, due to softened mobile revenue.
