Alcatel-Lucent's Velocix to power Totalplay's IPTV service

Alcatel-Lucent announced a contract to expand the IPTV service of Mexican operator Totalplay through the deployment of its Velocix content delivery network platform. Totalplay is responding to growing customer demand in Mexico for premium video content that can be accessed over any mobile or fixed device, be it a smartphone, tablet, TV or a PC. Alcatel-Lucent said its Velocix content delivery network will allow Totalplay to extend its new cloud-based, IP technology-driven TV service beyond Mexico City and Guadalajara to the cities of Monterrey, Puebla and Toluca, adding ultra-broadband access
