Algerian telecom regulator ARPT has called on mobile operators to refrain from claiming that their 3G network offers the best service based on anonymous 'independent studies' without publishing the evaluation criteria used. The regulator writes that under their licence terms operators can only publish the evaluation of their services on the anniversary of their launch, based on a measurement system that it is currently drawing up with each operator. No research organisation can replace the ARPT in this evaluation.
