Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group is investing CNY 500 million to help Taobao merchants move to mobile commerce. The company started selling mobile service packages through a Taobao website ranging from CNY 1,699 to 2,699. The packages includes a starter guide on how to set up online stores for mobile devices, data analysis tools, and e-book coupons. More expensive packages include guidance on legal matters. The packages also come with a smartphone that runs on Alibaba's mobile operating system with software optimised for the needs of Taobao sellers.
