Allianz may outsource data centre ops to CSC or IBM - report

Thursday 29 August 2013 | 11:47 CET | News
Insurance company Allianz is in talks with Computer Sciences Corp (CSC) and IBM with a view to outsourcing its data centre activities, in a bid to cut costs, WirtschaftsWoche reported online, citing Suddeutsche Zeitung. Allianz hired a former Accenture guy to give a way their global network to Accenture, so hiring an ex CSC guy to outsource their data Center operations seems to be the right logic? From a shareholder point of view looking at similar moves in the financial industry over the last couple years, I seriously doubt a positive outcome. And this doubt spans from the actual business case to the reputationil risk. At the End, Allianz customer data will be processed by a company headquarterd in the US and steered by national US interests. HPK

Closing down 137 data Center will only effect 250 employees, wow they are allready quite efficient! Interestingly enough that a former Zurich , former CSC employe Thomas Kropp is in charge of this process. It remains to be questioned why a company which promotes as main value "trust" gives away customer data to companies directly controlled by the NSA.
