Almost 1.5 million jobs attributed to digitalisation

German technology association Bitkom underlined the need for broadband network expansion to get Germany ready for the Gigabit society. In the context of the IT Summit in Hamburg on 21 October, the association sees a unique opportunity for cooperation between politics and economy. According to a recent Bitcom forecast, this year 953,000 people work in IT and telecommunication companies and almost 1.5 million jobs in the entire German economy were attributed to digitalisation in 2014.
