Almost 20% of Dutch homes to have smart thermostat in 2017

Around 10 percent of Dutch households own a smart thermostat and another 8 percent expect to acquire one in the next year, according to research by Telecompaper. A number of providers offer the devices on the Dutch market, such as energy group Eneco, which has already sold 320,000 of its Toon thermostats and expects to reach 1 million sold by the end of 2017, including Belgium. NLE also offers the smart thermostat Anna, and energy group Essent is the exclusive partner of Google's Nest Labs in the Netherlands. KPN introduced recently its own thermostat as part of its smart home platform, and
