Almost 5% of French use web only on phone

The proportion of French internet users who only go online with their smartphone is rising. According to Mediametrie, it stood at 4.6 percent of internet users in 2014, compared to 2.8 percent a year earlier. Most are under 35 years old. Although the number of internet users continued to grow in France in 2014, reaching 43.8 million, up 1.5 percent, it was the mobile internet user and tablet internet user populations which recorded the largest increases. Some 55.7 percent of French people were mobile internet users at the end of 2014, 6 percentage points more than a year earlier, and 29.1
