Almost a quarter of US internet households owned a smart home device in Q4

Almost a quarter (22%) of US internet households owned a smart home device in the fourth quarter of last year, up from 17 percent the year before, according to the latest study from NPD. The home automation devices market is expected to reach USD 2.5 billion by the end of this year. Among non-owners, smart home device awareness has reached 42 percent. Growth here though is starting to slow, NPD noted, saying the marketplace is maturing.
