Almost every other German makes phone calls while driving

Some 42 percent of German drivers make phone calls without a hands-free kit and 44 percent read messages while driving, according to a recent survey conducted on behalf of IT association Bitkom. Almost one in four (23%) respondents even writes an SMS. It said 25 percent of respondents read emails, while 8 percent compose emails.
