Almost a quarter of Germans will be using ad-blocking software by the end of 2018, according to estimates from eMarketer. Currently, young people are the most likely to use ad-blocking software, at an estimated 52.1 percent of 18-24 year-olds and 40.7 percent of 25-34 year-olds, the researcher said. Out of all people, the vast majority (89.6%) do so on PCs or laptops, while only 28.6 percent block ads on mobile devices. The researcher said that the lower percentage on mobile devices is due to the software being less effective on the mobile web to date.
