Altice Portugal says no rush for 5G implementation

The CEO of Altice Portugal, Alexandre Fonseca, believes that there is still no "obvious need" to justify the implementation of 5G equipment, reports Economia Online. He argues that users have "still not taken full advantage of the technology currently available", which leads to the question of whether the spectrum auctions are a way for operators to finance the state. Fonseca added that more than 95 percent of the operator's towers are connected through fibre.
