ALTON criticises state governments' demands for environmental impact assessment fees

The Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON) has expressed concerns over complaints from members receiving demand notices for environmental impact assessment (EIA) payments from some states' ministries of the environment. ALTON chairman Gbenga Adebayo said this development is considered an aberration of the existing law. Adeboye noted that ALTON is the industry body of all licensed telecommunications operators in Nigeria.
