ALTON plans to approach NCC for tariff review amid harsh business climate

Monday 15 April 2019 | 10:24 CET | News

The Association of Licensed Telecommunication Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), the industry body for all telecommunications companies, says its proposing a cost-based tariff for voice calls, according to CommunicationsWeek. ALTON chairman Gbenga Adebayo said that the new model would reflect the cost of doing business in the country.

Adebayo said that the base price tariff that is currently operational does not consider the multiplicity of taxes and levies in the telecom industry. Adebayo said ALTON will approach the NCC with all the cost information and will be requesting a cost-based tariff through the established protocols.
