Altron ties up with US software firm SAS to target public sector

Friday 15 March 2019 | 13:41 CET | News

Altron has partnered with US-based analytics software developer SAS to offer its services to the South African public sector. Altron will establish a dedicated SAS business unit under its Bytes Systems Integration (Altron BSI) operation to sell and license SAS software to sectors such as financial services, retail, healthcare, education and revenue services.

Mteto Nyati, Altron group chief executive, says the partnership with SAS will enable businesses to make decisions through analytics in critical areas, such as workforce management, detecting fraudulent payments, public safety information on offender crime rates and patterns, immigration violations and the like.

The companies believe the public sector can transform its data into intelligence by applying analytic software and services.
