Amazon builds new German warehouse

Amazon plans to open a new logistics centre in Lower Saxony by the end of 2017. The facility in Winsen will be 64,000 square metres and cost around EUR 90 million. It will employ 1,000 people in the first year, with an additional 1,000 employees expected to join in the years after. The expansion of the German logistics network will facilitate faster deliveries and an expanded range to customers throughout Europe, the company said in a statement.
