Amazon paid EUR 12 mln in taxes to Germany last year

Amazon's main German operating unit paid EUR 11.9 million worth of taxes last year, on sales in the country of USD 11.9 billion, Reuters reported, citing regulatory filings. Germany is Amazon's biggest market outside North America, the annual report shows, but until recently all sales and almost all profits were reported via Luxembourg companies. Amazon's main German operating unit, Amazon.de GmbH, manages the German website and oversees deliveries but is funded by payments from the Luxembourg companies. Accounts filed in late April and made publicly available in recent weeks, show Amazon.de
