Amazon to create 1,200 new jobs in Lazio region

Tuesday 9 August 2016 | 10:13 CET | News
The government of the central Italian region of Lazio has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the town of Fara in Sabina to develop the infrastructure to host a new 60,000 square-metre Amazon distribution and storage centre. The hub, Amazon's second in Italy, is scheduled to enter service in autumn 2017, creating some 1,200 new jobs throughout the region, according to Nicola Zingaretti, president of the Lazio region. Amazon will take over the plant as soon as the region completes the corresponding road and rail networks linking Fara in Sabina to Rome.
