Amazon to pay UK taxes on profit made from UK sales

Amazon has started booking retail sales made to customers in the UK through a UK branch of Luxembourg-registered Amazon EU, rather than recording them in Luxembourg, the Guardian reports. The move will allow Amazon to avoid being hit by a new diverted profits tax, which came into effect in April and imposes a 25 percent tax on businesses found to be artificially routing profits to operations in countries with lower corporate taxes.
