Amazon UK trials instalment loans

Tuesday 5 January 2016 | 11:15 CET | News
Amazon UK has joined forces with Hitachi Capital Consumer Finance to offer loans to customers buying products on its website, reports the Guardian. The Amazon Pay Monthly service, currently in a trial phase, is available for orders of over GBP 400, which can include multiple items, but not on items sold by third parties on the website. The loan can be spread over two to four years depending on purchase price, and carry a 16.9 percent interest rate. The UK is thought to be the first country where Amazon offers instalment loans.
