Amazon.com in talks to acquire Landmark Theatres - report

Thursday 16 August 2018 | 11:13 CET | News
Amazon.com is in talks to acquire Landmark Theatres, writes Bloomberg citing people familiar with the situation. An eventual acquisition would vault the e-commerce giant into the brick-and-mortar cinema industry. The company is in competition with others interested parties to acquire the business from Wagner/Cuban Cos, which is backed by billionaire Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner. Cuban told the Hollywood Reporter in April that he hired a bank to look at offers, but said at the time he was in "no rush to sell." No final decisions have been made, and talks may still not materialise.
