Amazon's Ring introduces new security and privacy control layers

Tuesday 18 February 2020 | 17:43 CET | News
Amazon-owned Ring has announced a number of new measures to boost security and privacy controls following recent criticism from nonprofit organisations and specialist websites. The company said two-factor authentication is now mandatory for all users, meaning they have to enter a one-time six-digit code sent via email or SMS when they log into their account to check on the status of their indoor and outdoor cameras. "Requiring this code will help ensure that the person trying to log into your account is you", said Ring in a blog post.
